One of the goals of the support group is to raise money for uveitis and ocular inflammatory disease research. The Walk for Vision is back to support Dr. Foster's research. It is a 5k or 3.2 miles around the Charles River in Boston. The event will be followed by a wonderful lunch at the Royal Sonesta Hotel and Support Group Meeting. Please join the Uveitis/OID Support Group! All proceeds will benefit research related to uveitis and ocular inflammatory disease at the Ocular Immunology and Uveitis Foundation. Why this cause? Because destructive inflammatory diseases of the eye, such as uveitis, are the third leading cause of preventable blindness in developed countries. Our goal is to change this. Who can walk: All are welcome. Walk with your
family, friends, and coworkers and help build a cure for uveitis/ocular
inflammatory disease.
Any company, organization, or individual can participate and get us
one step closer to a cure for ocular inflammatory diseases like uveitis.
We Walk Rain or Shine! We have a large spirit taking place in Verona, New Jersey. Lauren Jacobs will be organizing the walk at Verona Park on October 14th. If interested, click here

If 25 sponsors give 20 dollars, that meets your goal or 10 sponsors give 50 dollars. Family, friends, coworkers, employers, and local businesses are all good prospects for soliciting donations. Involve your company: Many companies have a gift matching program.
These programs usually match the donations given by an employee. Fundraising Parties: Host a party at your house or other venue and charge admission. This is a fun way to raise money, create awareness and reach your fundraising goal! Prizes will be given to the adult and child who raise the most money. The adult prize will be a weekend at the Four Season’s Hotel in Boston, MA. The child’s prize will be announced in the upcoming weeks. At the 2006 Walk, the most money raised by one walker was 4000 dollars. Let’s try to achieve and raise even more in 2007. Information to give donors about where their money
